STEP 1 is to draw lightly and create a "line of action". In this case we will draw a curved line. The "line of action" indicates action or posture of the character. NOTE: when starting your sketch be sure to draw lightly. You may need to erase your lines later. |
STEP 2 draw a circle on top of the line. Keep in mind it doesn't need to be a perfect circle. |
STEP 3 draw curved lines across the circle. They are called the facial guidlies. This comes in handy for when you are ready to draw the face. |
STEP 4 draw an oval circle over the head circle. This circle represents the cheeks of the chipette. |
STEP 5 draw one narrow oval circle under the head circle. |
STEP 6 draw another - more rounder circle under the oval circle. |
STEP 7 next draw two long circles for each of the legs. Then two circles for feet. Note: The leg and foot further away can be drawn slightly bit smaller then the one closest to you. This gives the illusion of perspective appearance. |
STEP 8 now draw two long circles for arms and one small round circle for the hand on each side. |
STEP 9 is one of the fun steps, but also one of the challenging one. Drawing the face and ears. This is where the guidelines come in handy. It helps to keep your face center on the head. |
STEP 10 draw Brittany's hair. |
STEP 11 now she needs something to wear. You can draw any outfit, but in this case we will just draw her traditional skirt and top. |
STEP 12 you might want to add a microphone so Brittany can sing for her fans. |
STEP 13 time to draw her fingers. |
STEP 14 is the moment you've been waiting for. Grab a black pen or pencil crayon. Use it to outline over the pencil drawing. NOTE: make sure you only outline the line you want to be seen. |
STEP 15 just erase the lightly drawn pencil. Now you have a nicely drawn Brittany. |
STEP 16 pick out the colors you want to use and go nuts. (pun not intended, lol) |
STEP 17 next is optional, but shading will bring more life to your character. |
STEP 18 lastly, write your name and the date so you can compare it to future drawings you may do. This way you are able to see how much you have impoved over the months/years. |
